Unlike many Tier I programs where postseason is limited or nonexistent, the Tier II landscape opens the door to:

potential berth in USA Hockey Tier II Nationals (if qualified)

…this is a powerful alternative, especially for those currently on non-state-eligible teams in Tier I organizations.
